Assessment Policy
Your assessments will be based on the following skills:
Skill 1: Speaking Proficiency (See rubric: Spanish II, Spanish III)
Skill 2: Writing Proficiency (See rubric: Spanish II, Spanish III)
Skill 3: Reading Comprehension
Skill 4: Listening Comprehension
Skill 5: Cultural Understanding
Skill 6: Personal Responsibility
Your grade is based on a "Total Points" system. Each assignment will have a point value and the total average of points will determine your final grades.
Semester Evaluations are worth a percentage of your semester grades. Evaluations are cumulative and will reflect the skills and vocabulary from all classwork and homework.
Each assessment will be evaluated on one or more of the criteria above. Grades are determined by the indicators reached on the rubrics, the points attainted for correct answers or completion of the assignment.
This rubric based approach ensures that parents and students know exactly where a child stands with essential language skills. It also ensures that students are being assessed on their ability to use the language.
